• MOSPRA New Professionals Bootcamp 2023-2024

     

    MOSPRA’s New Professionals Bootcamp is a six-month public relations and communications “boot camp” for those new to the field of education communications (first three years in the profession). The program will consist of six sessions (in-person and online) tailored to support the unique needs of new school communicators. In the past, bootcamps have included sessions on topics such as communications planning, key messaging, effective use of social media, understanding and effectively working with the media, PR/Legal issues, being a strategic advisor and more.

     

    Facilitators:

    • Jill Filer, Director of Communications, Harrisonville School District
    • Mickey Schoonover, Director of Communications, Pattonville (Retired)

     

    Organizers of the Bootcamp want your feedback in advance to help guide them in session content.

    Please take the survey if you believe you may attend. 

     

    Session presenters will be recruited based on the topics to be covered.

     

    Tentative calendar (DATES/TIME TBD):

    • October 13 - Session 1 (Virtual)
    • October 27 - Session 2 (In-person session directly following the MOSPRA Fall Conference)
    • December - OFF
    • January - Session 3 
    • February - Session 4
    • March - Session 5 (in-person at MASA/MOSPRA Spring Conference)
    • April - Session 6
