Solo-Pros - One Person Office Support

MOSPRA Solo-Pros is designed to support school communication professionals who work as a one-person communications department or in a position where communications is only one of many responsibilities.
Working solo presents unique challenges: limited time and resources, competing priorities, crisis response, managing websites and social media, producing content, advising district leadership—and often having no communications colleague down the hall to turn to.
MOSPRA Solo-Pros helps make sure working solo doesn’t mean working alone.
The initiative focuses on:
- Connection: Build a network of other one-person and small-shop communicators who understand the challenges.
- Practical Professional Development: Provide training specifically geared to doing more with limited time, staff and resources.
- Resource Sharing: Templates, communication plans, crisis materials, calendars, checklists and other ready-to-use tools through resources such as MOSPRA’s Document Vault.
- Peer Problem-Solving: Opportunities to bring real challenges to colleagues and learn what is working in other districts.
- Mentoring: Connect newer Solo-Pros with experienced MOSPRA members through Colleague Connections.
- Skill Building: Focus on areas especially important to solo practitioners—including AI, crisis communications, internal communications, social media, websites, ADA accessibility, video/photo, strategic planning and working effectively with district leadership.
- Networking: Dedicated workshops, roundtables and informal opportunities for Solo-Pros to learn from one another.
Solo-Pros fits directly with MOSPRA’s broader mission of providing connection, collaboration and professional development, as well as its commitment to assisting districts that lack extensive professional communications personnel.
